I am so tired of people saying they’re broke when it comes to leisure time, family outings and discretionary spending. People are a slave to debt payments and are not able to enjoy life because of recurring payments.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Americans are broke after paying the Mortgage and car note because it tends to take up the bulk of their income after taxes, medical insurance. It seems that Americans always pick the house and car they want, but when it comes down to other things they tend not to have money.

One day, I took my daughter to the Children Museum downtown and people ask how I was able to afford it? (The Children’s Museum is usually $15 a pop) This can be a good chunk for a family of four plus food. I told them that my dollars go to what I enjoy. Exposing my child to art and culture is more important to me than a $2000 mortgage note. (A $700 car note is not going to help my child excel either)

My point is that most people priorities are out of control. I have co workers that are in expensive homes (according to the South) and also drive expensive cars and they always cry broke. They tend to get mad because they did not get a big raise or promotion. They are steady looking for more income. I just don’t get it.

It’s one thing to want more money to travel and educate yourself, but to buy a more bigger house or to upgrade their 3 year old car is ridiculous.

It becomes laughable when someone says that they don’t have money to do certain things when they have a $700 a month car note.

One lady told me she does not know where her money goes; she is always broke at the end of the month. She has a large home and drives a Mercedes that is 2 years old.
Hmmmmmmm

I mean some people just don’t get it. If you can truly afford a 700 car note + insurance there is no need to complain, but when it takes up your cash flow making it impossible to do other things you have a problem.

Bottom line, you’re broke because you want to be. Most of us buy want we want therefore, people scrape by on necessities such as buying fast food when they should be eating healthy foods.

When you put premium gas in your car and greasy food in your body, I’m sorry but your priorities are screwed up!
