Words of Wisdom, by Suze Orman
To sync your priorities with your finances:
* Don’t buy things unless you have the money to buy them.
* Don’t expand your business unless you have the money to do so.
* Realize people are the key to everything—money can’t do anything without people.
* Think about and understand what you’re doing—and why—with your money.
Well said Suze! but this info is too little too late, maybe people will adhere to it before the next recession.

I like Suze, yet most pf experts write these articles about the recession after it blows up in their face.
Save your money when you don’t need it— bottomline and you may never have to worry about a crisis

I have followed Suze Orman advice for 2 years she always talked about the recession before it happen, I just hated she told people to buy SPY right before the stock market crashed.

I am sorry but I don’t agree with # 2 – Don’t expand your business unless you have the money to do so.
Most if not all businesses borrow cash day in and day out. You can not grow a business without credit. Its that simple.

I agree with #2 and think the borrow for business idea is asking for trouble. I was surprised to learn how debt based many large entities are.
I own a small business that has grown larger and I have never borrowed or used credit to maintain or build it. My brother owns a business with employees and a building and did not borrow and he is preparing to open his second facility and will not and has not borrowed. I invest my earnings back into my business and if I needed to borrow than I probably am not really making a profit.
